MI News Wire – Michigan Granted Nearly $13 million for School Health and Safety

Nearly $13 million in federal grants will be used in Michigan schools to improve students’ health and safety, the Michigan Department of Education announced today, in partnership with the Michigan Department of Community Health. Michigan is among 20 states to receive the Project AWARE grant of $1,936,000 per year for five years from the U.S.

Nearly $13 million in federal grants will be used in Michigan schools to improve students’ health and safety, the Michigan Department of Education announced today, in partnership with the Michigan Department of Community Health.

Michigan is among 20 states to receive the Project AWARE grant of $1,936,000 per year for five years from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. In addition, the state is one of 12 states to receive $640,000 per year for five years from the U.S. Department of Education’s School Climate Transformation grant.
